About me
I aim to scale design teams, while meeting business needs and fostering a psychologically safe environment.
During my early school years, my teacher conducted an exercise, in which she placed a note on each student's desk. Each note was a shameful attribute of our personality. When I read mine, it said "nosy." For decades, I internalized my "nosiness" as something to be ashamed of.
This shame followed me well into my career while working with clinicians, statisticians, engineers, and designers. I always did what I was told, like a machine, they requested, and I created without question.
The turning point came when I decided to attend graduate school. It wasn't until I started collaborating with my diverse cohort on rapid-fire strategy projects, pitching in healthcare accelerators, and funding my small business focused on increasing diversity in the creative industry, that I realized my superpower. I am not nosy, I am curious.
Since then, I've learned the importance of synthesizing data, whether that be client, user, customer, executive or colleague feedback, to provide clear next steps in ambiguous situations. I've used these skills to get to the root of complex problems to ensure teams are designing impactful solutions.
I now thrive in environments that challenge my ways of thinking and allow me to learn something new. I embrace the opportunity to meet new people, and together, harness our superpowers to reach a common goal.
When I'm not on a VPN, I am usually doing something active like dancing, traveling, or weightlifting.
